CAE Group, a subsidiary of the Dutch telecommunication group TKH, have implemented in their Villabé warehouse, south of Paris, the PENTA WMS software system edited by INGRIF. CAE Group were in need of standard processes in the logistic management of their 7500 m˛ distribution center. CAE Group selected PENTA WMS after visiting the installations of the French publishing group Flammarion. Core business CAE Group is specialized in the development and supply of information and telecommunication networks. The CAE Group warehouse in Paris distributes 3000 references in cable and connection devices to industrial clients. Real time and reality on the work floor The cable specialist was aiming at a better management of the functions in the warehouse: reception, put away & storage, order picking and shipping but also specific applications such as cutting cable to length. Profitability largely increased In controlled mode the warehouse has largely improved its reactivity. Order picking time has decreased by 35% after the PENTA WMS application has been implemented. Picking routes have been optimized and truck drivers now perform more tasks which are attributed by the PENTA system in order to increase the interoperability of man and machine. |
